TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Highway crews began treating the roads for icy conditions expected Friday night.

Officials say that they had two trucks out today laying brine in anticipation of icy rain mixed with traffic for high school basketball games.

Roads on the north end of Terre Haute have been paved with 16-hundred gallons of brine

The south end is expected to be covered in the same.

Trucks will be sent out again tomorrow morning to continue preparing the roads.

A total of 5-6 thousand gallons of brine will be used in the city.
