Terre Haute man awaiting court date after standoff situation Tuesday ended peacefully


UPDATE: TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – A 43 year old Terre Haute man, Ryan Watson was arrested Tuesday after a standoff situation with police.

Watson’s initial court appearance is scheduled for July 1 at 1:30. His bond is set at $25,000, no 10%.

PREVIOUSLY REPORTED: What started as a standoff situation with Terre Haute Police, ended peacefully according to Sgt. Michael Ellerman with Terre Haute Police.

Police asked residents to avoid the 500 block of South 5th Street after a man presented what appeared to be a gun during a well-being check around 5 P.M.

The Special Response Team and negotiators were called to the scene.

The situation wrapped up around 7:30 P.M.

43 year old Ryan Watson was arrested on preliminary charges of Criminal Recklessness and Intimidation, according to Terre Haute Police Department’s Facebook page.

A handgun was located inside the residence and was taken as evidence.
