Terre Haute Natives Killed in Vehicle Wreck

Terre Haute natives died early this morning in a vehicle wreck in Vermillion County.

A report came in just before noon on Sunday.

Driver, 75 year old Blondie King and his passenger 79 year old Wanda Spence were involved in a rollover accident on S.R. 163 near Hazelbuff Road east of Walmart.

A preliminary investigation shows that the 2005 Chevrolet pickup, driven by King, was headed west on S.R. 163, when it exited the roadway and traveled on the inside of the guardrail, hitting the concrete embankment and landing on the driver’s side.

Both were trapped inside the vehicle and had to be extricated. They were transported to Union Hospital in Clinton, but died to their injuries.

Seatbelts were not being used.
