Terre Haute Man Arrested on Controlled Substance Allegations

A Terre Haute man is in custody after a search warrant was served at his residence for controlled substance allegations.

On Wednesday evening at 6:30 P.M., members of the Indiana State Police Drug Enforcement Section and the Putnamville District Meth Suppression Team served a Vigo County Superior Court Division 6 search warrant on a residence at 3750 North Smith Street in Terre Haute, IN.

During a search of the residence, investigators located numerous suspected controlled substance pills, a pill press for alleged manufacturing, computer equipment suspected to be part of the allegations, and various packaging materials related to the alleged illegal activity.

The resident, 27 year old Benjamin M. Hayes, was taken into custody on preliminary charges of Dealing a Schedule IV Controlled Substance; Manufacturing a Controlled Substance; Possession of a Controlled Substance; Dealing a Controlled Substance; and Maintaining a Common Nuisance.

Community tips in May 2017 led investigators to this alleged criminal activity.
