TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Terre Haute is officially in the holiday spirit with the start of the 11th annual Miracle on 7th Street.
The two-day event kicked off along Wabash Avenue on Friday night with fun for the entire family.
People were able to enjoy a train ride, ice skating, an inflatable snow globe, and treats from several vendors.
Organizers said although the event is created for all to enjoy, it serves a greater purpose.
Miracle on 7th Street is also a time to give back through donations.
“Miracle started as a really small event and it’s grown to closing down streets, multiple locations. It’s so much fun to get the community out and get them in the Christmas spirit. But, knowing that we’re raising all of this money for people in our community gives everyone that warm, fuzzy holiday feeling,” said Miracle on 7th Street board member, Katie Shane.
Activities continue Saturday, including gingerbread house making and a parade.
