Terre Haute Fire Department puts out three overnight fires

News

Terre Haute fire authorities are continuing to investigate three overnight fires.

Around 11pm crews responded to a warehouse fire at 1702 Maple Avenue which Asst. Chief Norm Loudermilk says took over five hours to put out.

Then around 3am two more fires were reported in vacant homes on First Avenue which took two hours to put out.

No injuries were reported and all locations were vacant with no utilities hooked up.

“We’re just asking for the publics help. Obviously fire is a pretty dangerous thing and when you have folks that live close to each other in close proximity like on the avenues,” said Loudermilk. “And somebody sets an abandoned house on fire like that it can easily spread.”

Loudermilk says the fires are being investigated on suspicious circumstances.
