Terre Haute Center Hosts Gifts from the Heart Dinner

An after-school program in Terre Haute hosted an after hours dinner that came straight from the heart.

The Gifts from the Heart dinner was held in the Sycamore Banquet Center.

It benefited the 14th & Chestnut Community Center.

Attendees could place bids in a silent auction.

Employees and volunteers were also awarded for their hard work at the center.

But, center officials say this annual event was important for several reason.

“One, for the financial contribution it makes. But, more than that.  It helps us get the story out so people really know what’s going on at 14th and Chestnut and they may want to be a part of that,” says Pastor Bill Felts, executive director of the 14th & Chestnut Community Center.

The 14th and Chestnut Community Center has been in Terre Haute for 18 years.

It operates a faith-based after school program and a food pantry.
