TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Two arrests have been made in connection to Sunday night’s warehouse fire in the 1700 block of Maple Street.

Arson Investigator Norm Loudermilk said a thirteen year old juvenile was arrested around 10 pm Sunday night.

According to Terre Haute Fire Department Chief Jeff Fisher, a 14-year-old juvenile was arrested Monday morning after admitting to setting the fire.

“At some point in time for a reason that only he knows, he reached over and set one of the boxes on fire,” explained Loudermilk.

Crews were on the scene from 7:20 p.m. until 4 a.m.

“This was definitely a defensive attack,” said Fisher. “Which means nobody goes in we just surround and drown.”

Fisher said there are still hotspots at the location; however, they are too dangerous to send crews out to.

The two juveniles are facing level four felony charges for arson and are currently in the Juvenile Justice Center.
