TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Team of Mercy continued a weekend of fundraising as part of Suicide Awareness Month.
Saturday, the organization sold biscuits and gravy and lemonade and Sunday they sold fresh produce.
Team of Mercy and Local Boy Produce teamed up to sell fresh fruits and veggies.
Those who may not have wanted some produce were able to leave a donation.
Seven years ago, the daughter of Team of Mercy’s executive director died by suicide.
Since then, she and her husband have been working to let others know support is out there for those who may be struggling.
“I think we need to realize that our problems are temporary and they can be fixed and if you see someone struggling, you know you can talk to them,” said Adam Crist.
If you or anyone who know is in need of support when it comes to suicide Team of Mercy is available. You can also call the national Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255.
