Local people seeking legal advice got free services today at the Talk to a Lawyer event at the Vigo County Public Library.
Organizers say hosting it twice a year is what they plan from here on out. The Terre Haute Bar Association says the event receives plenty of positive feedback. Discussions span from family or criminal law to property estates.
“This is our way of not only giving back to our community, but also a little something during the holiday season where people who can’t necessarily afford legal assistance can seek out an attorney here for free to get that kind of help,” President of the Bar Association, Noah Gambill said.
The Terre Haute Bar Association is made up of 200 attorneys from Vigo and surrounding counties. The next Talk to a Lawyer event will be in the spring.
