Suspicious vehicle leads to arrest

Universal, IN - A suspicious vehicle at a residence led to an arrest in Vermillion County Saturday.

While patrolling the area near Rangeline Road in Universal, Vermillion County Sheriff's Deputy Nick Hall observed a vehicle backed up to a residence believed to be vacant and without power. He noticed at least three subjects carrying items out of the house.

Hall approached two females outside the residence and saw a male look outside the residence and take off toward the back of the house.

The male was not carrying identification, and at first gave false information to authorities. Once properly indentified as Thomas R. Beauchman, 24, of Terre Haute, it was discovered he was wanted out of Vigo County on a warrant for revocation of probation on an original charge of burglarly and resisting law enforcement.

Beauchaman was transported to the Vigo County Jail and turned over to Vigo County authorities.

The two females were determined to have permission to be on the property.
