A traffic stop turns scary after a suspect shoots at Martin County Deputy Sheriff Danny Salmon.

It happened at 5:15 Monday morning on Mobley road, just north of Shoals.

As Salmon talked with the driver, he says that driver pulled a gun and the two struggled.

During that struggle, a round was fired barely missing Salmon, then then driver sped off dragging Salmon for a short distance.

Salmon shot once at the car before losing sight of it.
The suspect is described as a white male, believed to be about 6 feet tall, wearing a black hooded shirt and blue jeans.

He was driving a light colored 2012 to 2017 Dodge Dart that was last seen heading east on State Road 450 near Trip Road.

Police consider this driver armed and extremely dangerous.

So, if you have any information about this suspect, the vehicle or the shooting calls the Martin County Sheriff’s Department at (812) 247-3726.
