Terre Haute Police have announced a suspect in the murder of Alice Anita Oswald.

THPD has issued an arrest warrant for Kenneth Pitts for charges of murder, burglary, altering the scene of a death, arson and obstruction of justice.

Kenneth Pitts is still at large and is considered armed and dangerous. Police believe he may be altering his appearance and using false identification.

He’s 55-years-old, 5’7″ tall, weighs 205 lbs and has brown and gray hair, and hazel eyes.

THPD released a series of previous mugshots of Pitts.

Police are not narrowing the search for him to Vigo County and want people to be aware that he may be in surrounding counties. Anyone with information about his whereabouts should call Terre Haute Police at 812-238-1661.

Terre Haute Police also issued an arrest warrant and a search warrant for Teresa M. Pitts for charges of assisting a criminal and obstruction of justice.

On Tuesday, Teresa Pitts was located in Clay County and arrested.

Police also executed the search warrant at her residence at 2713 N. 12th Street. Because Kenneth Pitts is still at large, THPD used the Special Response Team as a precaution.

Alice Anita Oswald went missing back on November 9th, 2017. Days later, her home was set on fire.

Oswald’s body was found inside her car back in January. The car was discovered in a frozen pond in southeastern Vigo County.
