Sullivan man pleads guilty to voyeurism

SULLIVAN, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A Sullivan man plead guilty to three counts of voyeurism on Friday.

Fifty-year-old Norman L. Parnell of Sullivan appeared in Sullivan County Circuit Court Friday and plead guilty to three counts of voyeurism in relation to multiple tanning salon incidents last year (click here for details).

A complaint was filed in April 2019 from a female customer at a Sullivan tanning salon. The customer told authorities a cell phone, placed in a vent, was recording video of her while she was in the tanning room. Parnell was working a the tanning salon at the time of the complaint. A warrant was issued for Parnell’s cell phone which was turned over to state police. Charges were filed against Parnell who was arrested June 12, 2019 and posted bond.

After the acceptance of a plea agreement Friday, Parnell was sentenced to three years. One year and 90 days will be served in jail, the other 90 days will be served on work release. All victims in the case consented to the plea agreement.

While in court Friday morning, Parnell apologized to the victims for his actions.
