Sullivan City Hall has temporarily closed after a pole fell, damaging a nearby business.
It happened at the John D. Bodine Attorney’s office in Sullivan. That’s located at 12 N. Court Street.
Crews evacuated the business. Sullivan City Hall, which is two doors down from the attorney’s office, is temporarily closing.
Mayor Clint Lamb’s assistant tells WTWO News that there are concerns the structural damage could spread to city hall.
A building inspector has been called in from Indianapolis to assess the situation. Until that inspector determines it’s safe for people to be inside, city hall will remain closed.
People are asked to avoid the area.
This is a developing story and will be updated as we learn more information.
