Studio 12 asks for mural inspiration through historic 12 Points photos

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A local 12 Points business is on the hunt for historic photos to inspire a new mural.

Studio 12 is set to have a mural painted on the inside of their building. The owners are asking for the public’s help in finding historic photos of the 12 Points neighborhood.

Lucy Chew, owner of Studio 12, said she wants to represent the history of 12 Points with the mural.

“We’re really excited about the future of 12 Points, but we want to help kind of preserve that history as well,” Chew said. “So, having this mural inside I think will help us kind of bridge that.”

Also in 12 Points, another mural is in the works on the side of the former 12 Points Hotel. Artist Shayla Fish is working on the floral Indiana mural.

Tiffany Baker, owner of the building, said the mural is being done in collaboration with Arts Illianna and the city of Terre Haute.

The mural will be complete later this month and then an unveiling will be held.
