Students get “StartED Up” at Launch Terre Haute

Tonight some future entrepreneurs feel more empowered. he future of business entreprenuership was the focus of an event at Launch Terre Haute.

That’s where area high school students came out for the event called StartED Up. Students got a taste of the business industry. Small industries and companies came to launch to help the students deal with issues that businesses face.

“It’s a reverse pitch, so this is my problem, can you guys help me solve them and then that whole evening we come up with many different solutions and we pitch them to the business. And nowadays we get 500 bucks, the business gets 500 bucks, and then we use that 500 dollars toward that company and then we get to do whatever that soltuion was with that company,” young entrepreneur Ava Wettrick said.

Another opportunity for students involed something called a big pitch. Students were able to pitch their business ideas in a room full of fellow high schoolers and the best pitch won 500 dollars.
