The Terre Haute community came together Saturday to honor the legacy of DJ Matt Leucking who was killed nearly two years ago.
An endowment was created to help make a difference in the community he was proud to call home.
Saturdays Luau was a celebration of all the progress being made in Terre Haute from the Blessed for Another Day fund.
The event was put together by the Terre Haute Parks and Recreation department, with funding from the endowment.
Each year a new program in the valley will be sponsored in an effort to continue giving back.
“Not only does it benefit the Terre Haute Parks and Rec but also the Terre Haute Children’s Museum as well. So if you can make a donation to this endowment it gives every year. Its a bless for another day. And we are blessed for another day,” said volunteer and friend of Leucking Jules Dunbar.
Next years endowment winner will be the Children’s Museum of Terre Haute.
Friends and family of Leucking say he would be proud and honored to be the driving force behind this fund.
