A state senator spent the day learning about the needs of patients and care facilities.

State Senator Jon Ford (R-Terre Haute) visited several health care facilities on Wednesday.

We caught up with him at Signature HealthCARE in Terre Haute.

The facility showed him how it’s caring for seniors and the disabled.

He also got to speak with residents and hear any concerns they may have.

State Sen. Ford says it’s important that the Indiana state legislature focuses on helping patients get quality care and making sure facilities have the resources they need.

“More and more we’ve got folks going into facilities like this and, as a state, it’s very important to us that we help the patients,” Ford says.

Signature HealthCARE residents also put personal artwork on display.

The facility says it encourages residents to express themselves through creativity.
