Sprucing Up the Fairgrounds

News

The Vigo County Fairgrounds are ready for a busy, fun-filled season thanks to dozens of volunteers.

More than 40 Duke Energy employees and retirees donated their time at the fairgrounds on Thursday.

They took on a variety of projects, ranging from electrical work and light repairs, to painting, and planting flowers.

This volunteer effort is part of the Duke Energy in Action program.

It aims to make communities better places to work, play and live.

“We just enjoy helping the community out, we’ve helped out in all different ways. We’ve had food drives. We just enjoy anything we can do to help out with the community, let everyone know we’re here for them,” says Bill Bedwell, a line service specialist for Duke Energy.
