PARKE COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Friday, the Southwest Parke Community School Corporation announced it will temporarily move to e-learning.
This will begin Monday, October 19th and continue through Wednesday, October 21st.
According to the corporation’s website, an increase in COVID-19 cases in the county led to the decision.
School officials say the local health department strongly recommended E-learning to slow the spread of the virus.
Indiana’s color-coded COVID-19 map currently has Parke County under “orange” status.
Data from the state shows that the county has just over a 14 percent 7-day positivity rate.
The corporation says it will consult with the health department next Wednesday to evaluate classes beyond that date.
