More information is coming out in the investigation of the Orlando, Florida night club shooting over the weekend.

It’s prompted people to stand against violence and pray for the victims across the country, as well as here in the Wabash Valley.

Wednesday night, the Sisters of Providence prayed for Orlando shooting victims, their families and loved ones.

People gathered at the Church of the Immaculate Conception at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College.

“Our country is in such need of time of comfort and peace.  And, what we do her every month, the first Tuesday of every month, is provide that for people.  It doesn’t need to be a crisis time for us but certainly at a time of crisis, it helps,” says Sister Paula Damiano, co-director of Providence Spirituality and Conference Center at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College.

Sister Damiano says including the Orlando shooting victims in the prayer service was important.

She says it shows solidarity and helps gain strength during times of mourning.
