SMWC Holds Color Run

Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College had a colorful way for students and staff to de-stress Monday.

They took part in the second annual Color Run that was held on campus.

Runners and walkers kicked off the event by tossing blue dye into the air before pounding the pavement.

Then, volunteers along the run route doused them with more dye as they passed by.

Participants say taking part in this vivid event served several purposes.

“It’s just a nice community event here at the Woods and a good thing to come out and burn some calories, be healthy and enjoy the day,” says Jenn Kersey, director of events at Saint Mary-of-the Woods College.

“I wanted to come out here and run and have fun and also it’s final’s week so it’s a good stress reliever,” explains college senior, Sarah Burnham.

Monday’s Color Run took place on Study Day at Saint Mary’s as a way to relieve the stress of all day studying for finals.
