As Terre Haute continues to celebrate ‘Small Business Week,’ we talk to one local shop about what “small business” means to them.
Corey’s Fine Footwear says it’s all about the experience, that small business is more personal and serves the community better.
Corey’s Fine Footwear has been in business since 1975. They say because of that, they celebrate the community and their loyal customers during this week.
The shop says without their customers, they wouldn’t have been able to serve the community for over 40 years.
“Small business is the heart of the community. You find people in your community. Shopping there working their. Also your money is going to go back into the community you live in and the economy three times more than the big box stores would,” said Andrew Rossington, General Manager of Corey’s Fine Footwear.
The Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce says out of all of their partners, 80% of the businesses in the city are local.
