Slowdown and stay aware as school buses return

VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — As students begin returning to school, drivers are being reminded by local safety officials to watch out for stopped school buses.

The Vigo County Sheriff’s Department plans to have extra patrols as buses are picking up students in the morning and dropping them off in the afternoon.

Sheriff John Plasse said people need to watch their speed, be on the lookout for stopped school buses and pay attention to students who might be waiting on a bus and could dart across the road.
