It was a special day for one girl from Linton-Stockton High School fighting a tough battle, and the students cheering her on along the way.
Savannah Boone is a student and homecoming queen. She’s also battling brain cancer identified as Atypical Teratoid Rhabdoid Tumor (ATRT).
That’s why Amy Wadhwan’s 8th grade English class from Northeast Middle School in Shelburn reached out to her, sending cards for support. On Monday, Savannah and her father visited the school so she could show her gratitude and personally thank the students for brightening her day.
“It was amazing, just to read their words to me, and it was absolutely amazing to know that they were thinking of me,” Boone said.
Savannah also lost her mother due to pancreatic cancer back in 2012.
