Sheriff: Clinton man charged after pushing Papa John’s employee

VERMILLION Co., Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A man is charged after officials said he allegedly pushed a Papa John’s employee in Vermillion County Thursday.

They said it happened at a Papa John’s restaurant on State Road 163 in Clinton.

The Vermillion County Sheriff’s Office said upon arriving to the scene, the victim, who is an employee, stated that the Franklin J. Barushak, 47, of Clinton came inside the restaurant and started complaining about his order.

They said Barushak became increasingly agitated and started to push the employee. Officials said when the employee tried calling 911, Barushak threw the phone and broke it.

The employee told officials Barushak appeared to be inebriated at the time of the incident.

They said a description was given of Barushak’s car and he was later found at his home by Clinton Police officer.

They said Barushak admitted to pushing the employee and throwing the phone. They add he also admitted to drinking before the incident, but he refused to take a breath test.

Barushank was transported to the Vermillion County Jail and charged with Interference with a Reporting of a Crime and Disorderly Conduct.

Barushak has since been released with a court appearance date.
