Several Terre Haute streets closed due to spring construction

News

With US 41 being repaved, and busy city streets under construction, drivers in Terre Haute don’t will have to mix up their daily commutes.

Springhill Road is still down to one lane as crews make room for a turn lane.

Everything south of 13th St. from Hulman to College Avenue will be closed until April 19 for storm sewer installation.

The Margaret overpass repavement project will finish up April 11.

And from April 15 to May 3 the east bound lanes of Poplar St. from 25th to Fruitridge will be closed for construction and widening.

Resident Jackie Carmin takes Poplar several times a day, but she’s alright with changing up her routes.

“I think it’s gonna impact it a little. It’s gonna cause some inconvenience. But I’m willing to make the sacrifice,” she said.

As these city streets are in the midst up construction drivers need to remember to slow down, focus on the construction zone, and watch for work crews.
