Many folks started a weekend of volunteer work today During a new partnership with United Way and Maryland Community Church.
It’s called Serve the Valley. Volunteers had 65 different organizations to choose from. Today we caught up with folks mulching outside the Salvation Army.
“I’ve been in two floods in the north end along otter creek. Salvation Army was there and they were there, they stayed until we didn’t need them anymore. We had a meal every day while we were cleaning up from the Salvation Army,” Volunteer Tina Regester said.
United Way anticipates 600 people will help with landscaping and cleaning projects around the Valley this weekend.
