Westminster Village is introducing a new add-on package to residents.

The package includes installments of wireless technology like the Amazon Alexa.

They simply tell her a voice command, and she performs the act, whether it be turning on the television, dimming the lights, or starting a pot of coffee.

“I think it’ll make Westminster Village as a whole seem more relevant today,” said Kate Webster, Marketing and Sales Director at Westminster Village.

For residents living with low vision, Webster said that Alexa can give them information such as the weather or local news, so that they can avoid having to try to read a newspaper or a computer screen.

“We’re always looking for things that are gonna keep us independent and remain in an independent kind of environment longer, and that’s exactly what Alexa allows them to do,” said Webster.

Residents can purchase parts of the package that fit their individual needs. The entire package costs $2200.
