A bill to help start or improve mental health services for law enforcement officers is one step closer to becoming a law.

Today, the U.S. Senate unanimously passed the “Law Enforcement Mental Health and Wellness Act.” Indiana Senators Joe Donnelly and Todd Young introduced the bipartisan legislation. Now the bill goes to the U.S. House of Representatives, and if it passes there, then it heads to the president’s desk to be signed into law.
