Semi Truck Crash on SR59

Parke County, IN - A semi truck driver is airlifted to an Indianapolis hospital after a wreck in Parke County.

It happened on State Road 59 just south of County Road 720 South.

Indiana State Police say 69-year-old Donald E. Stevenson of Reelsville was headed southbound when his truck suddenly left the road and traveled into the trees.

He was trapped in the vehicle for about one hour before rescue crews were able to extricate him.

He suffered serious leg injuries. Investigators believe he may have suffered a sudden health issue prior to the crash.

State Road 59 has re-opened.
