Section of SR 163 in Parke County to close for chip, seal project

PARKE COUNTY, Ind. The Indiana Department of Transportation announced a chip seal preservation project is scheduled to begin on State Road 163 from U.S. 41 to the Wabash River Bridge on Wednesday.

The roadway is scheduled to close around 9 a.m. on Thursday and reopen by 2 p.m. that day. On Monday, June 21 the roadway will close again at 9 a.m. and reopen by 2 p.m. that day for applying a fog seal surface coat.

Access will be maintained through the construction area for emergency vehicles only.  The official detour follows U.S. 41 to U.S. 36 to S.R. 63 and back.
