Emergency crews are responding to an accident involving two vehicles and a school bus near Terre Haute North High School.
The accident happened just before 4 PM on Fruitridge Avenue between Terre Haute North and the Bemis Plant.
According to officials, school buses were waiting to cross the railroad tracks on Fruitridge, when a railroad company truck was pulling out to come onto the street.
Another vehicle traveling northbound, passing the school buses, didn’t see the truck and collided into it; the force from the collision forced the vehicle into one of the school buses.
The driver of the car was taken to Union Hospital to be treated for injuries.
The students on the bus were evaluated by medical staff of first responders and the school, and were then taken back to the high school for their parents to pick them up. All students appeared to be okay.
Police say the accident is still under investigation.
