You can help fill a critical need today by rolling up your sleeve and giving blood.
The Red Cross is hosting a blood drive at Union Hospital.
After the holidays and due to the ongoing flu season, the Red Cross has seen a drop in blood donors.
That’s why they’re trying to get as many able donors as possible.
They say there’s a real need this time of year.
When there’s bad weather, there is an increase in accidents and a need for blood as a result.
But that’s not all.
“Everyday a cancer patient needs blood supply. Everyday somebody in the hospital will need some kind of blood infused into them. Having that on hand and in stock for those individuals is what we really need,” says Airika Ewbank, Red Cross Team Lead.
