LINTON, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – A local church wanted to share the wealth this holiday season. Tonight, Saron Church in Linton hosted its long-standing Christmas tradition with a community holiday dinner.
Organizers expected to serve 1200 to 1300 people tonight. They even offered carryout and delivery of meals. Plus, a Toys for Tots giveaway also took place.
“It’s a warm meal and a little bit of blessing around Christmastime. It’s a bigger blessing for the folks who get to offer it and get to give a meal away to folks and give toys away to kids who need it on our area. I think it’s a lot of blessings in a time where that needs to be our focus,” Pastor J.D. Rose said.
Pastor Rose says this tradition has gone on for over 25 years.
It was on-going when he was in high school and he says he’s happy that it continues each year.
