TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – One Vigo County school social worker received on of the highest honors in the state.

Nichelle Campbell-Miller was selected as the “National Association of Social Workers” Indiana chapter “2021 Social Worker of the Year”.

As a social worker as Sarah Scott Middle School she says she wants to impact others. Campbell-Miller earned both her bachelors and her masters degrees from Indiana State University.

Although coaching five athletic teams, she have never lost the will to help others.

“It was surprising. I meant it was the whole state of Indiana so I really didn’t expect to win,” Campbell-Miller said. “I meant it was great to just be nominated amongst so many other great social workers so I was generally surprised.”
