Ruth House, recovery home for women, marks six months in operation

SULLIVAN, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – A recovery center for women with addiction marks six months in operation.

The Ruth House in Sullivan opened in July of last year.

The program offers evidence-based programming, recovery and life skills, and bible studies.

They’re currently helping six women and have two more expected to join.

Executive Director Peggy Poe says so far the program has seen about a 50% success rate. She says that’s due to a very strict approach.

The women enrolled, like Madonna Fulford, say the program is truly changing their lives.

“It’s the support here that is bigger than anything else because even when we’re done with this program and we’re all gone from ehre, we will all lean on each other. We have made friends for the rest of our lives here,” says Fulford.

Fulford says she’s working to become a certified peer recovery specialist.

“Just to see the repair with their relationships has been a blessing. Just to see them get back in touch with their spirituality and just learning to be a totally independent woman,” says Poe.

Ruth House currently has two spots available for women who are interested in the program. Click here to learn more about it or call them at 812-699-9831.
