Today, folks gathered for a ribbon-cutting at Fairbanks Park to celebrate the opening of a new dock.
Before this dock opened, rowers would have to walk their boats into the river, which was very difficult.

Now, those who use the dock will have a much easier launch.

The co-founder of Wabash Valley crew says this dock will benefit more than rowers.

“It’s a different looking dock but really any boat can pull up and use it. Kayaks for kayak entry, our boats, canoes. This opens access to all.” Jack Hill, Wabash Valley Crew Co-Founder.

Jack Hill also says that ways to make the dock handicap accessible are being discussed.
