Rosedale man arrested for animal cruelty

LYFORD, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – A Rosedale man was arrested Tuesday after authorities found several dead animals and several others living in “extremely poor conditions,” according to the Parke County Sheriff’s Office.

Sixty-eight-year-old Gary L. Dunkley was initially charged with 10 counts of animal cruelty and 10 counts of failure to dispose of a dead animal.

Deputies first received a complaint of possible animal neglect on Monday.

In total three pigs, seven very young calves, one adult cow, five sheep, two goats, and two ducks were removed from the property and are being kept for further evaluation by Indiana State’s Veterinarians’ office.

Dunkley was transported to the Parke County Jail pending posting of $10,000 bond.
