One of the main Republican contenders in Indiana’s Senate race stopped in Terre Haute on Wednesday.
Todd Rokita is one of six declared candidates for the GOP nomination. “I represent Hoosier values and I’m proud, and can’t wait to bring that to the United States Senate,” said Rokita.
Hoosier Republicans are hoping to pick-up the seat now held by Joe Donnelly. The Democrat is considered very vulnerable in his re-election bid.
Rokita is a familiar name in Indiana politics. He’s been in Congress since 2011. Before that he served eight years as Secretary of State.
Candidates will have plenty of time to introduce their ideas to voters. The primary is about nine months away, and the general election doesn’t happen for more than a year.
