A Rockville man pleaded guilty Monday to killing his wife.
Two years to the date after his initial arrest, John F. Hartman was sentenced to 30 years in prison as part of a plea agreement.
Hartman was arrested for murder April 22, 2017 after his wife was found dead inside the couple’s home. He pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of voluntary manslaughter.
According to court documents, Hartman was found “guilty but mentally ill” following the plea. He was given credit for 730 days served, plus good time credit of 243 days. He was also ordered to pay court costs and reimburse Parke County for his court-appointed counsel.
