CLAY COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Starting Monday morning, some of your commutes may be affected by road closures throughout the Wabash Valley.
The Indiana Department of Transportation announced the closure of SR 246 just east of the SR 159 east junction starting Monday.
The construction work will replace a large culvert in the road. The road is scheduled to reopen on Friday, July 19.
The official detour follows SR 59 to SR 46 to SR 159 to S5 246 and back.
This work is part of a $1.7 million project in Clay and Owen Counties.
INDOT also announced the closure of SR 59 just south of County Road 1100 N. north of Brazil starting Monday.
This work is to replace a small structure in the area, and the road is scheduled to reopen on September 24.
The official detour follows U.S. 40 to U.S. 231 to U.S. 36 and back to SR 59.
This is another part of the $1.7 million dollar Crider and Crider project.
Also starting Monday, Prairieton Road in Terre Haute from Justice Drive to Honey Creek Drive will be closed starting at 7 a.m.
The road will be closing for new sewer installation and is set to reopen on July 29 at 5 p.m.
The detour route for this work will be Margaret Avenue to 3rd Street on the north side and Springhill Road to 3rd Street on the south side.
