Riley Elementary Remodeling

The city of Vincennes has a new addition that will serve the community for years to come. After several month of reconstruction and approximately 2 million dollars, the remodeled and improved Riley Elementary was unveiled to the public on Thursday evening.

The open house showed parents and students all the improvements in the school.  Last May, the building was closed and gutted to make way for the remodeling process.  Now, the facility has a new HVAC system, new furniture, flooring and paint.  The superintendent says basically everything on the inside is brand new.  During the reconstruction, classes have been held at various locations around the county.  But very soon, students will attend their neighborhood school once again.

Superintendent Greg Parsley says Riley Elementary is the first of four elementary schools that will be remodeled.  In fact, Tecumseh Harrison Elementary is already in the design process and bids on that project will happen soon.  Classes resume at Riley Elementary on January 4th.
