TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Summer may be peak butterfly season, but locals took advantage of a sunny fall day to celebrate a new community garden in Terre Haute.
The Butterfly Maze, located in the 1400 block of Locust St., is a pollinator garden by Rethink, Inc. designed to help pollinating creatures and, in turn, the environment.
The non-profit organization transformed an abandoned lot to create the pollinator’s paradise.
“This is just a way to try to help beautify the area and maybe give the neighborhood and the people in it a little incentive to pick up their place and make it look good because of what we’re doing here,” said organizers Schelia and Robert Romanelly.
The Butterfly Maze hopes to attract pollinating creatures year-round.
