WEST TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Friday night during halftime at a West Vigo High School football game, the school remembered their journey to consolidation.
In the late 1950’s schools across the country started to consolidate for economic reasons that benefited the schools.
In 1960 West Vigo opened its doors for the very first time to students from Concannon and Valley High Schools, followed by Fayette High School in 1961.
To commemorate the journey to consolidation, a piece of art was unveiled during halftime and donated to the class of 1963. A few from the graduating class of ’63 attended the game.
