Toddler dies in hot car parked at Indiana college

VANDERBURGH COUNTY, Ind. (WEHT) – A toddler died Tuesday after being left in a hot car at the University Southern Indiana.

According to the Vanderburgh County Sheriff, the parent of the child is a USI employee. The child was left in the back of the vehicle.

A sheriff’s deputy said the child had been in the vehicle earlier Tuesday morning and they received the call around 1:45 p.m. They said the father found the young child inside the vehicle.

The Vanderburgh County Coroner says they will not release the child’s name until Tuesday evening.
