Olney murder suspect considered ‘armed and dangerous’

OLNEY, Ill. (WTWO/WAWV) – Rick A. Meador, a 19-year-old from Olney, Ill., is being sought for the murder of Kyle M. Johnson, who was also a city resident. He is being charged with first-degree murder in a warrant issued by the office of Richland County State Attorney Charles Bradley Vaughn.

Civilians are warned not to approach Meador if seen, as he is considered “armed and dangerous,” according to a statement issued by the Illinois State Police.

Johnson was found with multiple gunshot wounds on Sunday and transported to an area hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. An autopsy was scheduled for today.

Meador is described as a white male, approximately 5-feet, 11-inches tall and weighing approximately 155 pounds, with brown hair. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Meador should call law enforcement immediately.
