VANDERBUGH CO., Ind. (WEHT) – Our media partner The Courier & Press reported that the man who has been accused of providing fugitives Casey and Vicky White with a motel room has been arrested.

The Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office said they were able to confirm during their investigation the two fugitives paid a homeless person to check in for them. The motel manager said the homeless person paid for seven days and Vicky paid for five. The manager also said he found out only yesterday that the fugitives had been staying at the motel.

Vanderburgh County Sheriff Dave Wedding confirmed that Shawn Eugene Gardner, 51, booked the Motel 41 room for Casey and Vicky White. We have been told he’s been arrested on unrelated drug charges.

Gardner has declined to speak to the media.
