Man arrested for stealing $67,000 worth of diamonds from Evansville jewelry store

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – A former Evansville jewelry store employee is facing 27 counts of theft for allegedly stealing thousands of dollars worth of diamonds from the company.

Authorities believe Aaron Haire, 27, of Evansville, stole $67,000 worth of diamonds from Kruckemeyer and Cohn Jewelry in Evansville over an extended period of time.

Indiana State Police detectives searched Haire’s residence where they located a safe containing loose diamonds, diamond rings, diamond earrings and bracelets worth approximately $29,000. They believe Haire sold approximately 30 additional diamonds from the jewelry store to an online diamond auction.

Haire is also accused of using the company account to purchase several computers and other electronic devices for his personal use.

He was transported to the Vanderburgh County Jail pending posting of bond.
